Dyson is a purveyor of stories set in weird and wonderful Florida, from the Conch Republic of Key West to the far reaches of the Everglades. Her screenwriting features a wide array of invasive species, cafecito-powered heroines, road-raging drivers, drag diva karaoke qweens, good ole boys and sexy grannies. Her screenplay, "Windfalling" was a Top 5 Finalist at the Citizen Jane Film Festival's Screen Grab Contest.

In 2014 she co-directed the short documentary, "Driving Lessons.” The film examines the profound emotional impact of racial profiling during minor traffic stops. It has aired on public television in Durham, NC and premiered with other short docs at the Full Frame Theater.

She's also a passionate advocate for gifted and talented students, having spent ten years as an educator in this field. Her audio documentary project, "Gifted Girl Chronicles," delves into the often confusing world of intelligent and talented girls and women, where family messages and societal expectations often conflict with the individual's needs. She’s currently in pre-production on a short documentary film that will further explore these issues in the current social and educational climate.

She recently co-produced "When All That's Left Is Love," a feature length documentary that goes behind closed doors with Alzheimer's caregivers and their loved ones. The film is receiving widespread support and acclaim from Alzheimer’s researchers and non-profit organizations. The film began its festival run in early 2019, and has been an official selection of over 50 film festivals worldwide. Despite the challenges of 2020, it has received numerous awards including Best Documentary Feature. The national community engagement campaign scheduled for 2020 has been postponed until later in 2021.

She has presented at workshops, film festivals and conferences around the country on creativity, educational technology, giftedness and film history and is the recipient of numerous grants and awards for her work in digital media and education.

In addition to her MFA in TV & Screenwriting from Stephens College, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication/Motion Pictures from the University of Miami and a Certificate in Documentary Arts from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University.
