Gifted Girl Chronicles

The Gifted Girl Chronicles is a multimedia project created and curated by Kris Dyson as part of her work at The Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. The project’s mission is to collect and share oral histories from girls & women who have been labeled as gifted/talented during their K-12 education.

Gifted females often struggle with finding fulfillment and dealing with societal pressures & cultural norms. Navigating the complex social, emotional & academic landscapes of their lives presents unique challenges.

What happens when everything about you is “too much” for others to handle?
What causes some girls to succeed where others stumble?
